What the test proves
A titer (blood antibody) test confirms the rabies vaccine produced enough antibodies. Rabies-free and strict destinations — Japan, Australia, Hawaii — use it as an extra layer of certainty.
The waiting period is the trap
Many countries only count the test if a set waiting period passes before entry — up to 180 days for Japan. That single window is why these trips must be planned months ahead.
Order of operations
Microchip first, then rabies vaccine, then wait the required interval, then draw blood at an approved lab. Skipping or reordering a step usually means starting over.
